President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sacked Solomon Arase because the Chairman of the Police Service Fee (PSC) and introduced DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd) as his substitute.
Ajuri Ngelale, presidential spokesperson introduced this in an announcement issued on Monday night, June 10, 2024.
The assertion stated; “President Bola Tinubu has accepted the appointment of DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd) because the Chairman of the Police Service Fee (PSC).
“The President has additionally accepted the appointment of Chief Onyemuche Nnamani as Secretary and DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as Member of the Fee.
“The appointments are topic to affirmation by the Senate. Different members of the Police Service Fee shall be appointed in the end.
“Moreover, the President has accepted the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Sheidu because the Govt Secretary of the Nigeria Police Belief Fund (NPTF) with speedy impact.
“The President expects absolute demonstration of integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal within the discharge of those vital capabilities for the general wellbeing of the Nigeria Police and the nation.”
Arase, a former inspector-general of police (IGP), was in March 2023, sworn in by former President Muhammadu Buhari because the PSC chairman after affirmation by the senate.
Arase retired from the Nigeria Police Drive (NPF) in 2016 after serving because the 18th IGP.
