JUST IN: Former EFCC chairman Ibrahim Lamorde dies in Egypt after undisclosed illness

Lamorde was made pioneer director of operations when the EFCC was created in 2003.

He was performing chairman in January 2008, a place he held till Waziri was appointed chairperson and confirmed by the senate in June 2008.

Lamorde returned to the EFCC in 2010 as director of operations, changing Stephen Otitoju.

On November 23, 2011, Lamorde, who was on the time an assistant commissioner of police (ACP), was once more appointed performing chairman.

He was made substantive chairman of the company on February 15, 2012, a place he held till November 9, 2015, when former President Muhammadu Buhari changed him with Ibrahim Magu.
