Retired police officers storm National Assembly to protest unpaid pensions (Video)

This isn’t the primary time police retirees have protested.

In September 2021, retired officers from 27 states stormed the Nationwide Meeting within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, demanding their pension funds.

In the course of the 2021 protest, they displayed placards with messages akin to ‘NPF pension defrauding police retirees, SOS,’ ‘Cops are dying in penury beneath the contributory pension scheme,’ and ‘CPS is a dying sentence in opposition to police!’

In the meantime, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had vowed to make sure a right away overview of the pension and severance packages of retired cops to replicate the enormity of their contributions and dedication to the nation.
